Email! "…where do I even start? …or stop??!"

Overloaded? Overwhelmed? How, when, why do you even manage the 'new reality' of emails now that this is the predominant method of connecting with our clients and industry colleagues. Is there even a universal protocol for the right and wrong way to keep in touch? How detailed or simple do we need to be with our wording? How quickly should our response times be and is there a down-side to responding or not responding to an email immediately.

Our Guest Host Richard Walker and our Member Co-Host Gilles Marion brought their knowledge and experience to our members in a round-table discussion on how to navigate the sea of questions and possibilities to keep the onslaught of emails at bay. We worked together to share our ideas and also learned out-of-the-box new ways to set up and manage emails.

About Richard Walker:
Richard is the Director, Business Operations at Canada's leading film and television payroll and accounting services company. Richard manages and designs business processes for hundreds of clients working with unions, government agencies, production companies and Studios. Richard is subjected to 100's of emails a day and has systems in place to effectively and efficiently manage them.

…so you've found your "ideal client"
…but what about your "ideal accountant"??
…and what about being that "ideal bookkeeper" for your client's accountant to work with??

Our Guest Co-Host, Grant McMaster CPA, along with our BCN Member Co-Host Tanya Hilts, joined our members in a virtual round table discussion to talk about the ins and outs of maximizing the bookkeeper/accountant relationship.

We analyzed the steps can we take to build a collaborative relationship with our accounting partners to ensure the mutual goal of providing the best service and advice to our shared clients by showing mutual respect, valuing each others work and time and establishing appropriate lines of communication. How do we set clear expectations of who does what and when and if ever in doubt, ASK! Ultimately ensuring we are all providing top notch service for our "ideal client"…

Our members sat in on a round-table virtual meeting to discuss 'image branding'. Our Guest Host Victoria Baird, along with our Member Co-Host Monique Isherwood, talked to us about becoming intentional about our image and finding out the secrets to making a good first impression. The Bookkeeper Connection Network

Our members attended our monthly Whine-o’clock Virtual Get Together and was joined by our Guest Host Maura Joy Lustig, who works with clients to help them develop the skills to crush overwhelm and gain the clarity and confidence to boldly pivot to embrace change.

Even the most successful business owners face daily and life challenges that are the natural state of life. It goes with the territory. In fact, the more we expand the more stress we must be able to handle. Everyone needs support and mentorship, no exceptions!

We learned how to hit the reset button and develop into who we want and need to become in order to achieve our goals and desires.

As a group we discussed how to raise our standards, create a daily routine for self care, set boundaries, overcome procrastination, improve our actions and decisions.

Maura focused on improving our confidence, health and creativity by enhancing the following three areas of being: mind, body and spirit.

We looked at ways to overcome things like:
· Always putting our own needs last
· Lack balance between work and personal life
· Our lives are a roller-coaster and we don’t know how to get off!
· If we have difficulty adapting to new tools and systems
· Or have difficulty delegating (we do it all ourselves)
· How to be healthier, happier and have more freedom.

About Maura Joy Lustig:

"What if the Bank Says NO…?"
…there are creative financial solutions
